Lately I’ve been using Fox Farm Ocean Forest. It’s filled with everything you’ll need for a few months.

Good tips, Mike. Most people forget they need to keep their container garden soil fresh and rich.

What is the best soil to use for self-watering containers for tomatoes?   Organic, a special product made for this, or?????  Thanks,  Barb

One tip that has helped me especially with our house plants is that the soil itself sometimes gets forgotten in the process of regular upkeep. I have been using that all natural Thrive product to amend my soil. We mix with water and apply with our regular watering schedules. It seems to helping restore the natural microbiological activity of the soil. No chemicals and cannot overtreat, perfect for our family.

When I’m adding liquid fertilizer to my containers, is it better to pour it over the top, or add it to the reservoir container?
    Thanks much!
